Benefactors

Gwinnett Medical Center-Duluth

The Sport of Giving funds will be used to help renovate and expand the Diagnostic Mammography Center on the campus of Gwinnett Medical Center - Duluth. The purpose of this center is to provide dedicated diagnostic breast imaging services for women who have significant symptoms such as a lump, mass or other abnormalities. These services can be used to help in the evaluation of a woman who has had an abnormal screening mammogram or has previously had cancer or other significant history.  This project will not only add services to the GMC-Duluth campus for breast cancer detection but also enhance the physical surroundings to provide a calming, relaxing atmosphere. The experience for a woman visiting this center can be very stressful as the findings from a diagnostic mammogram, ultrasound or biopsy can mean a cancer diagnosis.

Northside Hospital-Forsyth

Sport of Giving funds will help Northside Hospital Forsyth to provide the latest, state-of-the-art technology, equipment and patient education/support services in the establishment of a complete Breast Care Center at Northside Hospital-Forsyth.

Breast Cancer Treatment Handbooks

Sport of Giving funds will be used to purchase 300 Breast Cancer Treatment Handbooks that will be given to patients who are diagnosed with Breast Cancer. The Breast Cancer Treatment Handbooks will be distributed through the Resource Center located in the Women’s Pavilion on the Gwinnett Medical Center campus in Lawrenceville.
